The Weight Distribution Hitch is a device that transfers some of the load from the towbar ball to the front suspension of the towing vehicle to ensure an even distribution of weight. This even distribution of weight ensures that positive steering and braking control is maintained.

Without a Weight Distribution Hitch, the added weight of a caravan, boat, horse float or heavy trailer will cause the front of the vehicle to raise, reducing the weight on the front wheels. Without necessary weight on the front wheels, the vehicle can experience a reduction in steering and braking control.
